Frequently Asked Questions about ShipEZ

Getting Started & Shopify Plan Requirements

Yes, with some conditions:

Shopify Basic: ❌ Carrier Calculated Shipping (CCS) is not officially supported. Even with annual billing or a $20/month add-on, Shopify states CCS is not available on Basic.

However, we’ve seen Basic plan stores using ShipEZ successfully — so it depends. We recommend contacting a Shopify Support Advisor (live agent) directly and asking if they can activate CCS for your store.

Shopify Plan: ✅
 • Annual billing: CCS can be enabled for free — ask the advisor.
 • Monthly billing: You can either switch to annual (CCS usually added free), or pay $20/month.

Advanced or Plus: ✅ CCS is included by default — no action needed.

Follow these steps:

1. Go to your Shopify Admin > Settings > Shipping and Delivery

2. In your shipping profile, try to add a new rate

3. If you see an option like “Use carrier or app to calculate rates”, then CCS is active.

4. If not, contact Shopify Support Advidor ( live agent) and ask them to enable CCS for your store.

Contact Shopify live support (advisor) directly. The chatbot cannot activate it.

Here’s how it works by plan:

Advanced & Plus plans: CCS is included by default — no action needed.

Shopify plan:

On annual billing: You can request CCS for free.

On monthly billing: You can either upgrade to annual or pay $20/month.

Basic plan: Not officially supported, but some stores may still be eligible. We recommend asking a Shopify advisor directly.

Once enabled, ShipEZ will display shipping rates at checkout

Yes — as long as the Carrier Calculated Shipping (CCS) feature is active on your store.
ShipEZ connects via Shopify’s CarrierService API to show accurate shipping rates at checkout.

Nope!
ShipEZ is designed for non-technical users. Everything is managed via a simple dashboard. You don’t need to touch any code..
But if you need help, we’re always here to guide you.

Shipping Rule Configuration

Of course! 🙌
We offer:

Guided setup with beginner-friendly defaults

You can create rules based on:

  • SKU

In the app dashboard:

"Apply FedEx only if the cart contains items with Tag A and the total is over $50."

Definitely!
You can offer free shipping if:
• The order total exceeds a certain amount
• Certain products are in the cart
• Customers are in specific regions
You can stack rules too — like free shipping for large orders within the U.S.

Yes!
You can set:
• Minimum shipping fees (e.g., never lower than $10),

Perfect for promotions, location-based rules, or heavy-item handling.

Shipping Profiles & Zones

Common reasons:

  • CCS is not enabled
  • No rule matches the cart (e.g., tag/zone mismatch)
  • Incorrect product assignments
Contact us and we’ll help check your setup.

Shopify lets you assign products to shipping profiles in the Shipping & Delivery settings.
Make sure each product is added to the correct profile to match your rule configuration.

Yes!
You can combine multiple carriers and apply rules based on:
• Product types
• Weights
• SKUs or tags
For example, small items can use FedEx, and bulky items can default to Freight. ShipEZ supports that flexibility.

This usually happens when:

Both carriers return rates simultaneously but conflict

Freight rules are too strict or missing key fields
We can help you set priorities or combine logic.

In Settings > Shipping and Delivery, use “Manage rates” to edit or assign products to different profiles. You can merge them manually, but be careful — Shopify limitations may apply.

Yes. ShipEZ supports multi-location setups.
Let us know how many zones/origins you have — we can help configure logic per location.

Carrier Integration (FedEx, etc.)

In the Carrier Integration section of ShipEZ:

Enter your FedEx credentials (API Key, Password, Account Number, Meter Number)

Choose whether to show your real-time rates or negotiated ones

You’ll need:

  • FedEx API Key
  • Password
  • Account Number
  • Meter Number

Contact FedEx support if you don’t have them yet.

Possible causes:

  • Missing API credentials
  • Incorrect rule setup
  • CCS not active

Contact us and we’ll walk you through a fix.

Yes. In Shipping & Delivery settings, remove any default FedEx setup in your shipping profiles.
Then, ShipEZ can take over rate display.

App Testing & Support

Yes! ShipEZ is free for now.
You can test it directly on your production store using SKUs, tags, or categories. No need to set up a separate test store.
Shipping rules will display at checkout in real time.

Check these:

Is CCS enabled?

Do the products meet the rule condition?

Are customer locations covered in the rule zone?
Still stuck? Contact us — we’ll help immediately.

Nope! 👍
You can safely install the app and configure your rules — it will only affect shipping rates shown during checkout. You can test real products using tags, SKUs, or categories to preview how it works.

Absolutely!
You can:
• Contact our support team via email or live chat
• Schedule a setup call with us (we’re happy to guide you!)
• Share a use case and we’ll help you configure your shipping rules.

Yes! We love hearing your ideas.
Submit a request, and we’ll evaluate it. Many of our features came from real user feedback.

You can decide what to show:

Set a fallback rate (e.g., standard shipping).

Or, show no rates (if nothing matches your rules).

UI/UX Confusion

Usually this means:

  • No rules matched the current cart
  • CCS isn’t active
  • The zone or tag isn’t covered

Contact us — we’ll debug it for you.

Each rule shows a preview and logic tree.
You can also simulate test orders in your Shopify checkout to see how rules are applied.

Shopify Limitations

This usually happens when both your default Shopify shipping settings and ShipEZ are calculating rates at the same time.
👉 To fix it, disable any existing rates under Shipping & Delivery > Shipping Profiles, so only ShipEZ handles rate calculation.

Rounding can occur due to Shopify's currency settings or how the shipping rules are configured in your admin.
👉 You can adjust the decimal settings in your Shopify admin or tweak the rules in ShipEZ to show exact pricing.

Yes! ShipEZ can merge shipping rates from different locations or shipping profiles into a single rate at checkout — so your customers won’t see duplicate fees. You can enable this in the ShipEZ app settings.
