Combine Rate Settings Guide

The Combine Rates page allows you to manage, create, and filter combined shipping rates. Combining rates is useful for offering flexible shipping options when multiple conditions or products are involved.

Search and Filter

  • Search Bar: Use the search bar to find specific combined rates by name.
  • Add Filter:
    • Click Add Filter to filter combined rates by Status (e.g., Active, Inactive).
    • Select the desired filter option to narrow down the list.

Listing of Combined Rates

The Combined Rates Listing section displays all the combined shipping rates created in your store. Below are the details of each column and its functionality:

Columns Overview
  • Name: Displays the name of the combined shipping rate. This helps you identify specific rates quickly.
  • Status: Shows whether the combined rate is currently Draft or Active.
    • Active: The combine rate is active and applied during checkout.
    • Draft: The combine rate is inactive and not used for calculations.
  • Condition Type: Displays the type of condition used to combine rates.
    • Example:
      • Sum: Adds up the rates from multiple conditions.
      • Highest: Uses the highest rate among combined conditions.
  • Shipping Rate Tags: Lists the tags associated with this combined rate. Tags help define which products or groups of products this rate applies to.
  • Action:
    • Edit: Click the Edit link to modify the details of a specific combined rate.
Bulk Actions
  • You can select multiple combined rates by checking the boxes in the Name column.
  • Perform bulk actions such as enabling, disabling, or deleting combined rates.

Add or Edit a Combined Rate

  • To create a new combined rate, click the Add Combine Rate button in the top-right corner.
  • Use the Edit action to adjust existing rates as needed.
General
  1. Status:
    • Choose whether the shipping rate is Active or Draft.
    • Only active rates will be calculated at checkout.
  1. Rate Name:
    • Enter a name for the shipping rate.
    • This name will be displayed to customers at checkout.
  1. Phone Required:
    • Select Yes if a phone number is required for this shipping rate.
    • If No is selected, customers can proceed without providing a phone number.
  1. Maximum Shipping Rate:
    • Set the maximum shipping cost that can be applied, regardless of the calculated rate.
    • This ensures that shipping costs do not exceed the specified limit.
  1. Delivery Time Range:
    • Specify the delivery time range in business days (e.g., 1 to 3 days).
    • This information will be displayed to customers during checkout.
  1. Description:
    • Add a description for the shipping rate.
    • Use placeholders like {delivery_range_from} and {delivery_range_to} to dynamically show the delivery time range.
      • Example: “Estimated delivery between {delivery_range_from} and {delivery_range_to}.”
Method for Combined Rate Calculation

This section allows you to configure how shipping rates are combined based on shipping rate tags.

  1. Tags Matching Rule
    • Select how the combined rate applies based on shipping rate tags.
    • Options include:
      • All tags: The combined rate applies only when all selected tags match.
      • Any tags: The combined rate applies if any selected tag matches.
  1. Tags to Include (Required)
    • Enter the tags that should be included in the combined rate.
    • Separate multiple tags using commas (,) (e.g., cart, express, standard).
  1. Tags to Exclude
    • Enter tags that should be excluded from the combined rate.
    • Example: If certain rates should not be considered in the combination, you can enter tags like fragile, oversized.
  1. Rate Calculation Formula
    • Choose how the shipping rates are combined:
      • Sum: Adds all selected rates together.
      • Average: Calculates the average of the selected rates.
      • Highest: Takes the highest shipping rate among the selected ones.
      • Lowest: Takes the lowest shipping rate among the selected ones.

This setup ensures flexibility in determining the best way to calculate and display combined shipping rates for different shipping scenarios.
